Residential Builders Courses
Residential Builders & Contractors Prelicensure Course
The classes prepare participants for residential builder and contractor positions and enhance knowledge of proper practice and technique to those currently employed in residential construction. The Certificates of Completion will entitle successful participants to go forward and take the Residential Builders Exam.
Baker College will certify that participants have met individual parameters as established by the State of Michigan and will issue certificates verifying completion of each element obtained. Participants completing basic courses will receive a certificate of completion.

3-Hour Renewal and Continuing Competency Course for Residential Builders and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors
Baker, Business & Corporate Services is offering a three (3) hour continuing competency course to help existing builders meet new State of Michigan requirements. The course is approved by the State of Michigan and covers all 3 required elements including one (1) hour of building codes and laws related to the licensed occupation, one (1) hour of safety and one (1) hour of changes in construction and business management laws.
Individuals who were initially licensed prior to January 1, 2009 are required to have three (3) hours of continuing competency. Three (3) hours of continuing competency is required in order to renew existing builder's licenses before May 31, 2011.

Both courses are facilitated by architect Jed Dingens, AIA, LEED AP.
Other class times may be available upon request for groups of twenty or more. Class sizes are limited for an optimum learning experience.
