Certified Welding
Baker College of Owosso Business & Corporate Services offers
welding and manufacturing technology training
programs taught by highly experienced instructors. The classes prepare
participants for entry level welding positions and enhance knowledge
of proper welding practice and technique to those currently employed
in welding positions.
As an American Welding Society Educational
Institution Member, Baker College of Owosso
prepares participants to sit for qualifying
examinations at an accredited AWS test site,
which could lead to AWS certification in
the element of study.
Training packages range from standard welding programs to advanced welding techniques, including courses in oxygen/acetylene and plasma cutting, torching and layout, and thermoplastic welding. Customized training courses and in-plant programs are also available.
Classes are taught in our state of the art welding lab. Participants utilize the latest equipment including eight Miller Syncrowave 250 DX Welders for TIG and Stick welding applications and eight Miller Matic 250 X Series for MIG instruction. Participants will also be trained in the use of plasma and oxygen/acetylene torch cutting equipment, including hand operated and robotic track and feed systems. Horizontal band and cut off saws, drill press and grinding operation training is also included.
