Baker College Corporate Services follows the Baker College mission by taking its programs directly to adult, life-long learners at their places of employment. There are three areas to this campus: the college credit (degree granting program) program; the Personal Development (non-credit) Division , and the Special Projects Division.
The college credit program has been in existence since 1989, and has grown to a student population of more than 1,000 students. Certificate programs, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees are currently offered at more than 35 Michigan industrial sites and at one facility in Delaware . A majority of the industrial sites are Ford Motor Company, DaimlerChrysler, and General Motors facilities. All programs enjoy the same accreditation status and standards of instructional excellence as those available on Baker College “brick and mortar” campuses. On-site courses are coordinated with the time and shift demands and the calendar work schedules of each facility. All classes are taken on the employee’s own time.
The Personal Development Division administers non-credit personal development courses to employees at their work sites as well. Courses include, but are not limited to, a multitude of computer classes, personal finance, personal protection, time management, consumer law, small business entrepreneurship, and golf. Training can be delivered on-site or at a local Baker College campus and is customized to meet the specific needs of the client including content, scheduling, and delivery format.
In addition, Baker College Corporate Services provides a Special Projects Division. This division has been successfully administering Michigan 107A grants and the federal WIA grants. The purpose of this division is to locate small to mid-sized companies who have a need for specific training for their employees. The personnel of the Special Projects Division helps the companies submit the required paperwork and, subsequently, secures the appropriate instructional entities for the specific training needs.
The Special Projects Division provides employers with more than one million training dollars per year in federal and state grants.
