911 Telecommunicator
911 Telecommunicators are at the front lines of emergency services. They take telephone calls from the public, continuously monitor the location of emergency services personnel, and dispatch the appropriate type and number of personnel and equipment to incidents.
It’s a high-stress position, one that requires the ability to listen carefully, speak clearly, maintain a calm manner in the midst of difficult and sometimes life-threatening situations, work accurately, and quickly make quick decisions based on pre-determined criteria.
