Child Care Assistant
One of the Hottest Careers in the U.S.
With the increasing growth of two-income households, the need for Child Care Assistants has never been greater. In this career, you usually work with infants, toddlers, or pre-schoolers. You care for the children’s basic needs, and as part of the care center team, conduct activities that encourage children to explore new things, develop interests, build self-esteem and to learn how to get along with others.
Your studies at Baker College in this field include the theory and practice of child development and education, as well as the unique factors involved in the child care setting. You learn about using art, books, music, and play activities to encourage the child’s development and fulfill their emotional and recreational needs. As a graduate, you are well-prepared for a Child Care Assistant position and have the training you need for the Child Development Associate (CDA) assessment and process, which is a national credential.
