Database Developer
Organizations rely on Database Developers to create systems that effectively organize data — such as customer records, sales transactions, or inventories — so that users can easily access, manage, and update the information.
As a Database Developer, you apply your understanding of computer software, hardware, programming, and systems to design and implement database systems and determine how they will be used and protected from damage or loss. After a database system is up and running, you troubleshoot problems, answer users’ questions, and update it with new capabilities. You may also be responsible for preparing user manuals, training sessions, and help programs. It’s complex work that requires analytical thinking, patience, logic, accuracy, good communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
At Baker, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills required to prepare for working in this field. Our small class sizes ensure you’ll have plenty of one-on-one interaction with your instructors. Plus, your class work will be combined with real-world training and experience, so you’ll be employable from the day you graduate.
