As a Medical Administrative Assistant you act as the first line of communication between patients and their doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals.
It’s work that combines caring for people with skills in planning and organizing the day-to-day functions of a medical facility. Activities can include coordinating schedules, organizing, storing, and retrieving patient files, handling billing and insurance documents, ordering supplies, and other administrative tasks. You may also be involved in preparing correspondence, transcribing dictation, or assisting with reports and speeches.

If your interests are in the health care industry, you have good organizational and communication skills, and you pay attention to detail, there are no limits to your success in this field.

At Baker, you have the advantage of studying with faculty who bring years of experience into the classroom, helping to ensure you have the medical knowledge, training, and specialized skills you need to succeed. Our program not only prepares you to work as an administrative assistant in a medical facility, it also gives you a solid base on which to build a career as an administrative professional.
