Health Services Administrator
Managing the business side of medical organizations, whether it’s a clinical department or an entire facility or system, brings you new challenges every day. It’s a field where change is constant, with a steady stream of new technologies, complex and changing regulations, and a growing emphasis on patient-centered care.
As a Health Services Administrator, you apply your management skills in many different ways — developing policies and procedures, overseeing operations, and streamlining processes in order to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of patient care. If you work in a large facility or health system, your work may focus on supporting the top administrator by making day-to-day decisions, coordinating business activities, and controlling costs within your department or area of expertise. In a smaller facility, you may be the sole administrator and oversee a wide variety of areas including personnel management, finances, facility operations, and more.
To ensure you have the knowledge, training, and specialized skills you need to succeed, Baker’s program combines classroom studies taught by faculty who have real-world experience with practical, hands-on training in the field. It’s a curriculum designed to ensure you’re ready to start working the day you graduate.
