Manager

Manager

As a manager, your responsibility is to oversee the planning, coordination, and production of services that enable an organization to operate efficiently and achieve its strategies and objectives. The management field is broad and your work will vary depending on the organization you work for and whether you choose to specialize in a specific area.

As the person who leads and oversees a team or a department, you set direction, delegate work, resolve issues, and act as the liaison to upper management. Your work can include a variety of responsibilities: establishing goals and deadlines for your department or team, analyzing internal processes, conducting periodic reviews, procuring and coordinating services, preparing budgets and reports, or developing and implementing process improvements.

It’s work that requires you to be focused and analytical, with excellent communication, team-building, and decision-making skills — things you can learn at Baker, through our well-developed curriculum and small class sizes taught by professionals who have worked in the field. What’s more, our program also includes actual work experience, so you’ll be one step ahead in qualifying for a management position.
