As an Optician, you do more than fabricate and dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses and other optical devices. You use a variety of skills to help people of every age see more clearly; you analyze and interpret prescriptions, select and fit frames, and verify the accuracy of the finished product.

The specialized training you receive at Baker from professionals who work in the industry includes optical mathematics, physics, and precision measuring instruments and tools. You will gain all the knowledge and skills you need to qualify for the national certification examinations offered by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE). As a Baker graduate, you have a valued and nationally recognized credential that can open the door to a career anywhere in the U.S.

I would definitely hire someone right out of the Baker program. I would take them first over anybody else.
