Pharmacy Technician
Filling prescriptions is a detailed process designed to ensure that the medication ordered by the physician is the medication that is given to the patient. As a Pharmacy Technician, you verify that the written prescriptions are complete and accurate, mix and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist who checks them before giving them to patients. Your work may also include stock level maintenance and administrative duties like maintaining patient profiles or completing insurance claim forms. It’s fast-paced work that demands attention to detail and the ability to remain focused.
Through your classes at Baker College, you’ll learn medical terminology and develop a thorough understanding of pharmacy technology. You’ll also have opportunities to apply your skills through hands-on, real-world training, so you’ll be fully prepared to take the certification exam.
