In this field, your work centers around helping people cope with issues in their everyday lives. It may involve personal or family problems or relationships, or it may relate to a disability, disease or specific problem, such as substance abuse or inadequate housing.
At Baker, you can choose a program that combines studies in Psychology and Human Service with general education classes, preparing you to assist social workers, counselors, and psychologists. Or you can study Human Service in more depth, preparing to begin your career as a state social worker, case manager, or other mental health or social service position.
