What is Baker College?
Baker College is the largest private, not-for-profit, career college system in the state of Michigan. Baker College services more than 34,000 students across the state of Michigan and beyond. The College offers training, certificate programs, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, and master degrees on fourteen brick-and-mortar campuses as well as on three campuses “without walls.”

Baker College has programs in Business, Computer Information Systems, Office Administration, Health Sciences, Engineering Technology, Education and Human Services.

What is Baker College Corporate Services?
Baker College Corporate Services follows the college’s mission by taking its programs directly to adult learners at their places of employment.  “After work” classes are delivered with morning, afternoon, and evening options.  Corporate Services faculty are experts with real world experience in their fields of instruction.

Many organizations also take advantage of our Professional Development Division; sharpening workforce professionalism with training in project management, leadership, organizational development, sales and customer service, and quality tools and methods.  

Baker College Corporate Services personnel meet with interested companies to assess needs; propose programs, times, and locations; develop joint marketing pieces; and conduct employee information sessions.  Thereafter, Program Coordinators provide educational and administrative services, from the initial admission process to program completion.

How much is tuition?
The current tuition rates are as follows:
UNDERGRADUATE:
Cost per credit hour $185
Cost for 4 credit hour course $740

GRADUATE:
Cost per credit hour $315
Cost for 4 credit hour course $1,260

How do I pay my tuition?
Many companies and corporations provide a tuition benefit to their employees either as a direct benefit of employment or as a benefit negotiated by the union. Baker College personnel will assist our Corporate Services students with the appropriate tuition application forms for these tuition benefits; however, it remains the responsibility of the student to follow up the process in order to assure tuition payment to Baker College.

How do I buy my books?
You may view book lists for courses in which you are registered by visiting the SOLAR System. To locate your books you will need to select the STAR System, and then Bookstores. Select the books you wish to purchase and calculate the order. You may continue the process by selecting which secure payment method you would like to use. If you prefer, you may phone the Baker College Corporate Services/Online Bookstore at (800) 339-9879, or e-mail your request to bookstore@baker.edu. The books will be delivered to your home usually within 2-3 business days.

Does Baker College accept college credit that I took at another college?
Yes. Generally, Baker College will accept college credit transferred from another educational institution under the following conditions:

  • The credit is transferred from an accredited institution;
  • The credit is transferred with a grade of "C" or better (a grade of "C-" or less does not transfer);
  • The transferred credit fits your program of study.

How can I check my personal information such as my transcript and my program?
Baker College has developed a unique online system for the exclusive use of our students that allows each student to check his/her transcript, STEP Plan, and account screen. To do this you will log in to the SOLAR System, then choose STAR, then Academic.

How do I register for classes at my work site?
Program Coordinators provide many opportunities for students to register for classes in specified locations at your work site. Please contact your Baker College Program Coordinator for details.

If you are a returning student, Baker College also provides the opportunity to register online, if that is convenient for you. To do this, you will log in to the SOLAR System, choose the STAR System, then Academic, and finally Registration.
