Escorts – If at any time a student, faculty or staff member would like to have Campus Safety escort them to their vehicle or classroom, they can call or stop by the Campus Safety office and one of our officers will assist them.

Vehicle Lights Left On - Campus Safety will deliver messages to students, faculty or staff members to let them know their vehicle lights have been left on so they don’t walk out to a dead battery.

Vehicle Jump Starts - If a student, staff or faculty member had a dead battery on their vehicle, they can call Campus Safety and we will come and give them a jump start. You must sign a waiver before we can be allowed to assist you. If we cannot get your vehicle started, we can assist you in finding other service providers.

Vehicle Unlocks - Locked your keys in your vehicle? Contact our office and we will try to help you get back on the road. You must sign a waiver before we can be allowed to assist you. If we cannot get your vehicle opened, we can assist you in finding other service providers.

Deliver Emergency Messages – If a student receives an emergency message, we will find the student and make sure they get the message.

Issue Parking Permits – All students, faculty and staff are required to have a parking permit on or in their vehicle. Failure to have a visible permit can result in a parking violation. Come to the Campus Safety office to get your free parking permit.

Issue student ID’s – All students are required to have a Baker College issued student ID and are required to carry it with them at all times while on campus. There is a fee to replace lost cards. Cards can be issued by Campus Safety, or the Library.

Lost & Found – Occasionally, students Faculty and Staff leave flash drives, clothing, coffee cups or other belongings behind. When lost items are found, they should be turned into the Campus Safety office. To claim items you need to be able to provide an accurate description of the item and have valid ID. Items are held for six weeks.

Classroom Access – Instructors can allow students to use labs and classrooms outside of regular class times. Access may vary from program to program. Students just stop into the Campus Safety office with valid ID to sign in, and we unlock the door for them. Campus Safety may need to verify that the student is allowed to use the classroom they wish to get into.

First Aid – There are times when students, Faculty and Staff on campus get hurt. Because Campus Safety is trained in first aid, we are able to give immediate assistance to anyone who gets hurt.
