The Book Club

The Baker College Allen Park Book Club is currently reading John Knowles' classic novel, A Separate Peace. About The Baker College Allen Park Book Club

The Book Club was formed at the Allen Park Campus six years ago for both students and staff to join, and since then it has been choosing a book to read for pleasure every term (except summer), meeting once a month to discuss and share feelings and ideas about the reading. The club has also welcomed guest speakers to further heighten awareness of cultural and political perspectives inherent in the readings. Finally, the club has engaged with a local school to help purchase books for its reading program by managing a used book sale for the past four Spring terms.

Collection of used books

The Baker College Allen Park Book Club is currently collecting gently used books, adult or children, hard backed or soft backed, for the Used Book Sale to be held during the Spring term. There are bright red collection bins in the library and the student center for book donations to be placed.
