Pre-School (3’s)

WELCOME TO THE PRE-SCHOOL ROOM (3'S)

In the Pre-School classroom, many of our learning experiences are through play. We are given the opportunity to explore our surroundings, read books, sing songs, listen to music, play musical instruments and dance. At this age, we are meeting new friends, learning how to interact with them, and using positive language skills during cooperative play. We also learn how to share the teacher's attention. This means waiting our turn, which sometimes is hard to do!!

Academically, we work on name recognition, colors, numbers, shapes, letters, as well as sign language and some Spanish. "The Pre-School" classroom means independence. Although the teacher monitors the restroom, we are able to use it all by ourselves. We have a snack in the morning and a snack in the afternoon along with a nutritious lunch. Practicing table manners, saying, "Please and Thank You," and cleaning up after ourselves are all a part of mealtime. Nap is after lunch. Please bring a blanket for nap, as it is much easier to fall asleep if I have something of my own to cuddle.

We hope you enjoy the time you spend at . We are looking forward to meeting you and your parents. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, as there will no longer be a daily sheet sent home for the children in Pre-School.

Sincerely,

The Baker College System
