Mike HeberlingWelcome to the Baker Center for Graduate Studies!

The Center for Graduate Studies began operations in 1994 with just 77 students. Today, there are over 1000 students in our four graduate programs: the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), the Master of Business Administration (MBA), the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) and the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT).  This extraordinary growth can be attributed to the high quality, currency, and relevancy of our graduate programs.

All of our graduate programs have regional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The MBA program has an additional international accreditation through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). The Master of Occupational Therapy program also has an additional accreditation through The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The Master of Science in Information Systems program has been designated as a Professional Science Masters Program by the Council of Graduate Schools.

At the Center for Graduate studies we work hard to adhere to our mission: To provide quality graduate education that leads to advanced academic achievement through excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. Graduates of our program can take pride in the fact that they earn a very respected and a very marketable degree. We are very proud of the fact that over 90 percent of our courses are taught by faculty with a doctorate degree.

Not only do we teach sound professional practices; we apply these in our day-to-day operations as well. We continually assess the Center for Graduate Studies’ operations and course offerings to better respond to the needs of our students. We strive to improve our quality by surveying students, alumni and faculty and by closely analyzing all course and program evaluations. Our goal is to not only have an outstanding curriculum, but to also have equally high standards for the administrative elements of the program. This includes admissions, financial aid, technical support, registration, career services and faculty advising.

I am confident that you will find the Baker graduate school experience to be very rewarding both as a student ….and especially as an alumnus!

Sincerely,

Michael E. Heberling, PhD., President
