Campus Safety Services

Campus Safety Services

  • Escorts – If at any time a student would like to have Campus Safety escort them to their vehicle, they can just call or stop by the Campus Safety office and one of our officers will assist them.
  • Vehicle Lights Left On – Campus Safety will deliver messages to students to let them know their vehicle lights have been left on so they don’t walk out to a dead battery.
  • Jump starts - If a student had a dead battery on their vehicle, they can call Campus Safety and we will come and give them a jump start.
  • Pilot lights – Sometimes the pilot lights in the townhouses or apartments go out. If a student smells gas or realizes their pilot light is out, they can call Campus Safety and will come relight it for them.
  • Deliver emergency messages – If a student receives an emergency message, we will find the student and make sure they get the message.
  • Issue parking permits – All students are required to have a parking permit on or in their vehicle. The townhouses are required to have a sticker on the lower, left side of the windshield. All other residence hall vehicles are required to have a permit that hangs from the rearview mirror.
  • Issue student ID’s – All students are required to have a Baker College issued student ID. They are also required to carry it with them at all times while on campus.
  • Lost & found – Occasionally, students leave flash drives, clothing, coffee cups or other belongings behind. When lost items are found, they are turned into the Campus Safety office.
  • Lab access – Instructors can allow students to use labs and classrooms outside of regular class times. Students just stop into the Campus Safety office to sign in, and we unlock the door for them.
  • Give First Aid when needed – There are times when students on campus get hurt. Because Campus Safety is trained in first aid, we are able to give immediate assistance to any student who gets hurt.
