Jonathon Pate

I am the Director of Residence Life, Jonathon Pate, and I oversee all housing facilities and staff at Baker College of Muskegon. I've been working with Baker College since 2006 after graduating from Central Michigan University with my Bachelor's Degree. In 2011 I graduated with my Master's Degree in Adult & Higher Education from Grand Valley State University. My wife, Hannah, is a kindergarten teacher in nearby Whitehall and together we have a daughter, Ella May. In my spare time I enjoy hunting, biking, kayaking, sports and spending time with my family. We also love spending time riding our horses, Charlie and Albatross, and hanging out with our dogs, Maggie & Chance.

Alexsis Globig

Hi! My name is Alexsis Globig and I am the Residence Hall Coordinator for the Oakhill 300's as well as Marquette Ave in the Baker Townhouses. I am also the Coordinator of the Academic Programming Team. I joined the Residence Life team as a Residence Hall Coordinator in 2006.

Personally, I married my husband Luis in 2009, who also graduated from Baker College in 2013 from the Culinary Institute of Michigan. We have a daughter, Madison who keeps us very busy. We as a family love just hanging out, watching movies, playing outside, and put-putting. We also like watching shows like Big Bang Theory, Hell's Kitchen, NCIS, and Grimm.

Nathan Hartman

Hello!  My name is Nathan Hartman and I am originally from Auburn, Indiana.  After high school I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cell, Molecular & Developmental Biology in May of 2011.  While studying at Purdue I was very involved in residence life, serving as a hall senator for two years and a resident assistant for two years.  I found making an impact in young peoples’ lives to be the most rewarding experience I could ask for.

Here at Baker College of Muskegon I act as the Residence Hall Coordinator for Lighton Drive at the Baker Townhouses, overseeing students and staff in the area.  In addition to my responsibilities on Lighton I also head up the Diversity & Social Justice Programming Team.

In my free time I enjoy playing as well as watching all kinds of sports, including Indianapolis Colts football, Detroit Tigers baseball, and of course all things Purdue Boilermakers.  I also have a passion for music, and enjoy reading, playing games, and spending time with friends and family.  In April of 2013 I married my best friend, Alison, and so far she has enjoyed living so close to the beach!  If you ever need help or just someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to seek me out.  I’m here to assist you in any way I can and my door is always open.

Jamie Franklin

Hello friends, my name is Jamie Franklin. I am from a small farm village in the middle of the state called Breckenridge. I am a proud alum of Central Michigan University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts with a major in Recreation Parks and Leisure Services (Concentrating in Community Development) and a minor in Leadership Studies.

I married my amazing wife Jackie on December 30th 2010. She works at Baker College of Muskegon in the Bookstore. The two newest additions to the Franklin family where born on May 6th 2013. We enjoy taking walks around campus with Tobias and Suzanne, so if you see us feel free to say hi and take a peek at the twins.

Lately I have been on to the a big country kick, but thanks to the invention of the ipod, I find myself listening to all kinds of music; from Elton John to Lady GaGa to Garth Brooks. I am a huge Detroit sports fan and I love anything NFL.

Tammie Wierengo

I am the Administrative Assistant at the Residence Life office.  I graduated from Baker College with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and an Associate of Secretarial Sciences, both with honors.   I have three children, two which have also graduated from Baker College.  I love spending my free time fishing, gardening and enjoying my five grandchildren.

Emily Brown

I started working at Baker College of Muskegon in the fall of 2012 as the Recreation Facilities Coordinator. My responsibilities include supervising and staffing the Baker Recreation and Information Center (BRIC) located at the Baker Townhouse complex on Marquette Avenue and the West End Fitness Center (WEFC) located on the main campus. I am also responsible for the upkeep, safety, and staffing of these facilities. I make myself available with personal training help for students and staff, whether it is a simple health and fitness question or to help someone design a fitness program.

Being native to Muskegon, I played collegiate basketball at Muskegon Community College and Olivet College. I graduated in 2009 from Olivet College with a major in Fitness Management. Prior to joining Baker College, I worked at the Muskegon Family YMCA as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and coach. My personal interests include exercising, boating, and sight-seeing.
