Benefits of Work Aid
There are several benefits available to students who receive work aid (work study):
- Reduces/eliminates the need for student loans. Student loans must be repaid with interest and also include loan fees. Work Study funds are not repaid.
- Provides work experience. Many of the work study jobs are office positions which will provide the student with work experience which he/she can include on a resume.
- Possibility for advancement. A work study position may help to develop the skills necessary for a full-time position not only with Baker College, but with other employers as well.
- Provides flexible hours. Many work study positions have flexible hours and will work around a student’s class schedule.
- Extra spending cash. Work study can provide students with some extra spending cash.
