EMS Programs
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - View Program
Baker College offers the 200+ hour EMT program for college credit. Baker's EMT
program exceeds federal and state requirements and includes hands-on National
Safety Council ambulance driver training, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and
Incident Command for EMS. Baker EMT graduates are eligible to participate in
the National Registry of EMT's examination process and subsequently attain
State of Michigan licensure.
EMT Specialist
Baker College offers the 120+ hour EMT specialist
program for college credit. Baker's EMT
Specialist program exceeds federal and state requirements.
This program features classroom instruction
in core topics like advanced airway management,
intravenous therapy, and introduction to
pharmacology. Upon successful completion
of the course the graduates are eligible
to participate in the National Registry of EMT's examination process
and subsequently attain State of Michigan licensure.
Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMTP) - View Program
Baker College offers the 1100+ hour Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
program. The comprehensive education program features classroom instruction
in core topics like anatomy & physiology
and medical terminology, then continues through advanced emergency medical
and trauma care with extensive clinical/internship opportunities at leading
hospitals, EMS agencies, and non-traditional sites. A decidedly hands-on
approach prepares students to synthesize solutions to changing patient conditions
rather than simply apply textbook rules to their care plans. Baker's EMTP
program meets or exceeds the latest federal and state requirements, and
includes hands-on training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), 12-Lead
ECG, Incident Command for EMS, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Pediatric
Advanced Life Support (PALS). Baker EMTP graduates are eligible to
participate in the National Registry of EMT's examination process and subsequently
attain State of Michigan licensure.
Emergency Medical Services Management - View Program
This program is designed to meet the needs
of students who are currently employed
in or are planning to pursue a career in
Emergency Medical Services Management. Understanding
the necessary skills for individual and
group problem-solving is required in the
contemporary employment world and will be
stressed and developed. Students must enter
the program with paramedic certification.
Prerequisite: Approved 48 credit hours from
an accredited institution. (Minimum GPA
2.0)
