Accessing Baker Webmail

Baker College provides Baker Webmail Standard Edition access to all students, faculty, and staff. In additon, the faculty and staff have access to Baker Webmail Corporate Edition. By using Baker Webmail, you are able to access your email from any computer that has a connection to the Internet. To access the Baker Webmail site, please follow the directions provided below.

Logging in to Baker Webmail

  1. Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Once connected, point your web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, to https://email.baker.edu/em by typing it in the URL or Address box or clicking on the above link.
  2. Type your username (example: jdoe01) in the "Login" box and your password in the "Password" box. Your username and password are the same as what you use to access the SOLAR System. If you do not know your username or password, contact the Helpdesk at (800) 645-8350 or (810) 766-4060. Once you have entered your information, either click Login or press Enter on your keyboard.
  3. In order to use Corporate Edition, if you are Faculty or Staff at Baker College, simply choose Faculty/Staff Login before entering log in information and you will be directed to the Corporate Edition log in page.

Viewing Baker Webmail via Email Client or Mobile Device

Baker College only provides support for our Baker Webmail platform. Although our servers are configured to allow third party email client connections, the helpdesk will only provide the following information:

  • Outgoing Mail Server: email.baker.edu
  • Outgoing Requires Authentication with: Baker Webmail Address (As below) and password
  • SMTP Port: 25 or 2525 if 25 is blocked by ISP (TLS supported and recommended but NOT SSL)
  • Incoming Mail Server: email.baker.edu
  • Important Note: if using POP and you wish to see a copy on the client and in Webmail mark POP to leave copy on host.
  • Use either POP Port: 995 with SSL enable or IMAP Port: SMTP Port: 993 with SSL enabled
  • Incoming Requires Authentication with: Baker Webmail Address (As below) and password
  • Baker Webmail Address: jdoe01@baker.edu or firstname.lastname@baker.edu
