Baker College officials have announced the appointment of Mark R. Taylor to a 3-year term on the Flint campus board of regents. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of Genesys Health System, a leading health care provider in mid-Michigan. Baker College of Auburn Hills is offering a new nursing program that is specifically designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are interested in becoming Registered Nurses (RNs). Graduates of the new Nursing - LPN to ADN Ladder program earn an associate degree in nursing (ADN). Upon graduation, they are eligible to take the licensure examination to become Registered Nurses. Baker College of Cadillac has received a $90,000 Major Impact Grant from the Jewell Education Fund (JEF). The annual grant is awarded for projects that will significantly improve the quality of education on a Baker College campus. More»

Baker College of Flint officials report that 100 percent of its 2009 veterinary technician graduates have passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and the state licensing exam issued by the state of Michigan. A total of 18 graduates took the exams and passed on the first attempt. The 2009 national average pass rate on the first effort is 74 percent and the corresponding state pass rate is 83 percent on the first attempt. More»
