Baker College of Allen Park officials have appointed Kristine L. Barann, CPA, as vice president for finance. She is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the campus, including budget development, working capital analysis and preparation of financial statements.

Barann joins Baker College of Allen Park from the Trenton Public Schools, where she was business manager. Other work experience includes finance director for the city of Allen Park and a managerial position at Plante & Moran, LLC. Barann has more than 20 years of financial, consultant and managerial experience. In addition, she was a part-time accounting instructor at Baker’s Allen Park campus, and has been a member of the campus board of regents since 2005.

“Kris has a wealth of both professional and educational experience, and has been an integral part of the Allen Park campus for the past several years,” said Aaron J. Maike, Baker College of Allen Park president. “She is more than qualified to handle the responsibilities of this position and we are delighted that she has accepted the challenge.”

An Allen Park resident, Barann holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She also earned her CPA certificate in 1990.

Barann is a member of the Michigan School Business Officials, a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1937 to serve the multifaceted interests of education.
