August 09, 2010
Baker College of Allen Park officials have named Yvonne Langley as vice president for career services. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the department, and developing and maintaining partnerships with employers to foster internship and employment opportunities for Baker College of Allen Park students. For the past five years, Langley served as director of career services for Baker’s Allen Park campus.
“Yvonne has worked diligently in the communities in which we serve to build the reputation of our graduates,” said Aaron J. Maike, Baker College of Allen Park president. “She is highly deserving of this promotion and I look forward to working with her for years to come.”
Before joining Baker College of Allen Park, Langley was employed at Barton Malow Company in Southfield for seven years. While there, she held several titles, including workforce diversity specialist in the human resources department, assistant program coordinator for the workforce and career enhancement program for the Detroit Public School program manager team LlC, and senior special project coordinator for the business and workforce diversity department. She has more than 10 years experience working with internship programs and developing workforce diversity initiatives, and more than 15 years providing soft-skills training to middle school, high school and college students.
Langley holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a master’s degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti.
