August 17, 2010

Baker College of Cadillac officials have named Lori Dewey, MSN, as nursing program director. She is responsible for the overall planning and development of the nursing program at Baker’s Cadillac campus, including student advisement, curriculum oversight, personnel hiring and department budgeting.

“Lori’s extensive educational background, wealth of professional nursing and administrative experience, and knowledge of the Baker College system made her the ideal candidate for the nursing program director position,” said Robert Van Dellen, Ph.D., Baker College of Cadillac president. “We are very pleased that she has accepted the challenge.”
Dewey joined Baker College of Cadillac in 2006, serving as a part-time instructor, full-time instructor, nursing clinical coordinator and interim nursing program director. Clinical expertise includes operating room and medical surgical floor nursing, and nursing supervision. She has more than 30 years combined nursing, administration and higher education instructor experience.

A Cadillac resident, Dewey holds an associate degree in nursing from Northwestern MI College, a bachelor’s degree in health service administration from Baker College of Cadillac, and a master’s degree in nursing from the American Sentinel University, Englewood, Colo. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), and the National League for Nursing (NLN).
