Baker College of Cadillac Offers EMT Program In Gaylord
September 04, 2012
Baker College of Cadillac will offer an EMT-Paramedic Certificate Program this fall in Gaylord. Classes begin Monday, September 24 and will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Otsego Memorial Hospital, located at 825 N. Center Ave., Gaylord.
“We wanted to extend the reach of this program to individuals in northern Michigan who, due to busy schedules and other restrictions, could not travel to Baker’s Cadillac campus,” said Kelly Smith, Baker College of Cadillac President. “This flexibility offers residents of Gaylord and surrounding communities the opportunity to train for a rewarding career in a high-demand field.”
The Baker College of Cadillac EMT-Paramedic Certificate Program meets or exceeds state requirements for paramedic training. In order to fully prepare students for the challenges of emergency medical care, the program includes classroom instruction in advanced emergency medical and trauma care, as well as extensive clinical training and internship opportunities with Advance Life Support ambulance services. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the National Registry for EMTs exam, a requirement for licensure in Michigan.
