Baker College of Flint Holds Ceremony To Dedicate Centennial Garden

September 20, 2011

Baker College of Flint will hold a centennial garden dedication ceremony on Friday, September 23, beginning at 9 a.m., 1050 W. Bristol Rd., Flint. The ceremony is one of several 100th anniversary celebratory events at Baker College of Flint this year.

The centennial garden includes a section of pavers that have been “purchased” by various partners of Baker College of Flint, including members of the business community, employees, vendors and suppliers. Proceeds from the sale of the pavers will go toward the 1911-2011 Centennial Scholarship fund. The first scholarship recipient will be announced on December 13, during a centennial celebration that will recognize all Baker College of Flint “communities” and partners.

“We wanted to do something that would involve community participation, stand the test of time, add to the beauty of our campus and benefit our students,” said Dr. Julianne Princinsky, Baker College of Flint president. “The centennial garden and paver section met all those requirements.”

The agenda for the centennial garden dedication ceremony is as follows:

  • 9 a.m. – Welcome remarks
  • 9:05 a.m. – Recognition of regents and key guests
  • 9:15 a.m. – Address by Dr. Julianne Princinsky, Baker College of Flint president
