Baker College of Flint To Host BPA Regional Leadership Conference

Students from 17 area high schools will compete
Baker College of Flint will host the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) on its campus on Friday, January 4, 2013. Approximately 467 area high school BPA student members will participate in the event, competing for regional awards in more than 50 categories under four primary classifications, including financial services, administrative support, information technology, and management, marketing and human resources.
“Baker College of Flint has supported the efforts of BPA for more than two decades as it continues to help our future business leaders enhance their social awareness, civic responsibility and understanding of the business community,” said Julianne T. Princinsky, Ed.D., Baker College of Flint President. “We are proud to once again be a part of this worthwhile endeavor.”
Participating schools include Bay-Arenac Career Center-C, Bay-Arenac Career Center AM, Bay-Arenac Career Center PM, Brandon High School, Clarkston High School, Davison High School, Flint Northern High School, Flint Southwestern Academy, Flushing High School, Grand Blanc High School, Lake Orion High School, Oxford High School, Saginaw Career Complex-Chapter I, Saginaw Career Complex-Chapter II, Swan Valley High School, Tuscola Technology Center I and Tuscola Technology Center II. In the event of postponement due to inclement weather, the “snow date” will be Saturday, January 5, 2013.
Finalists are eligible for the State Leadership Conference to be held March 21-24, 2013 in Grand Rapids, followed by the National Leadership Conference held May 8-12, in Orlando, Florida.
Business Professionals of America is a national career and technical student organization consisting of 23 state associations and more than 54,000 members. The Michigan BPA has approximately 170 chapters and more than 4,600 members. The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.
