Baker College of Jackson to Hold Financial Aid Workshop and Winterfest

Baker College of Jackson will hold its 2010 Financial Aid Workshop and Winterfest on Saturday, February 13. Baker’s Financial Aid Workshop and Winterfest is designed to help area college-bound high school seniors and their parents understand and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2010-2011 academic year. The event is free of charge and open to all high school seniors, regardless of whether or not they have identified their college of choice.
Prizes to be raffled off at the Financial Aid Workshop include three scholarships — valued at $500 each — to Baker College of Jackson.
The schedule for the Financial Aid Workshop at Baker College of Jackson is:
- 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.: Check in, breakfast, and “hot” careers information booths open
- 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.: Financial aid presentation; Q&A session
- 10:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.: “Hot” careers information booths re-open, individual financial aid assistance, campus tours
Financial aid officers will conduct the workshop, providing a profile and explanation of the various types of financial aid available to students. Detailed instructions for completing the online financial aid form will be part of the workshop. Admissions advisors will also be on hand to answer questions and offer information about Baker College of Jackson. In addition, a representative from the Jackson College Access Center will provide information about the Jackson Legacy Scholarship Program.
If available, please bring the following: 2009 Federal and State 1040 tax returns for parents and students; 2009 W-2 forms for parents and students, and 2009 Untaxed Income Amounts (e.g., FIA, SSI, child support, etc.).
