Baker College of Muskegon to Hold College Financial Aid Workshop Feb. 8

Information for all college-bound seniors, their families
MUSKEGON, Mich. – Baker College of Muskegon will hold its 2014 Financial Aid Workshop, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Student Center, 1903 Marquette, Muskegon. The free workshop is open to all high school seniors and their families, regardless whether the students have identified their colleges of choice. Registrations are required.

The event is designed to help attendees understand the various types of financial aid and to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2014-2015 academic year by the March 1 deadline. Statistics show that students who complete and submit FAFSA forms are more likely to go to college.

The schedule is:

  • 9:30-10 a.m. Check-in and continental breakfast
  • 10-11:30 a.m. Financial Aid Workshop
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Individual advising and campus tours

Financial aid officers will conduct the workshop, providing a profile and explanation of the financial aid available to students. New financial aid forms will be distributed and step-by-step completion instructions will be provided. Admissions advisors will also be available to answer questions and offer information about Baker College of Muskegon.

Helpful, but not required, students and their parents should bring 2013 federal and state 1040 tax returns, W-2 forms and untaxed income amounts (such as ADC, SSI, child support, etc.).
