Baker College of Muskegon Hosts College Goal Sunday on February 13, 2011
February 08, 2011
Baker College of Muskegon will host College Goal Sunday on February 13, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., in the Library Learning Connection, 1903 Marquette Ave. The free event helps parents of college-bound students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on time.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with professionals about financial aid resources, learn how to apply for financial aid, and receive information regarding statewide student services and admissions requirements.
In addition to Baker College of Muskegon, approximately 25 colleges and universities throughout Michigan will participate in College Goal Sunday on February 13. At each location, financial aid experts will be available to guide students and their parents through each step of completing and filing the FAFSA. Parents should bring their 2010 Federal tax return if possible, or their 2010 W-2 and 1099 forms.
This year, valuable prizes will be awarded during College Goal Sunday events throughout the state, including a $1,000 scholarship, three $500 scholarships, an iPod Nano and a Dell laptop computer.
Although the deadline for completing the FAFSA form is March 1, parents are encouraged to complete the form before the deadline to ensure that they are considered for all state aid programs.
