Baker College of Port Huron officials have appointed Iris Lane as Chief Academic Officer. She is responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of new academic programs. Lane also oversees several academic departments, including Advising, Registration, Counseling, Learning Support Services and the campus library.

“Iris has a wealth of administrative experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Baker College System,” said Connie Harrison, Ph.D., Baker College of Port Huron President. “We are very pleased that she has accepted this challenging assignment and continues to be an integral part of the Baker College family.”

Lane began her Baker College career in 2002 at the Auburn Hills campus, where she was appointed Medical Assisting/Medical Insurance Program Director. In 2004 Lane was named Director of Counseling and Assessment, and in 2005 was appointed Health Sciences Dean, a position she held until transferring to Baker’s Port Huron campus. Lane has also held various administrative and academic positions at several health care and technology organizations, including Coventry Health Care, Health Alliance Plan, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and United American Health Care Corporation.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Detroit College of Business and a Master’s degree in Education from Central Michigan University. Lane is nearing completion of her doctorate from Walden University.
