Baker College of Port Huron to Hold College Financial Aid Workshop Feb. 8

Special drawing for $500 scholarship
PORT HURON, Mich. – Baker College of Port Huron will hold the 2014 Financial Aid Workshop, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Student Lounge, 3403 Lapeer Rd., Port Huron. The free workshop is open to all high school seniors and their families, regardless whether the students have identified their colleges of choice. Reservations are required.

The event is designed to help attendees understand the various types of financial aid available to students attending Baker College and to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2014-2015 academic year by the March 1 deadline. Statistics show that students who complete and submit FAFSA forms are more likely to go to college.

There will be a drawing for a $500 scholarship to Baker College of Port Huron.

The schedule is:

  • 9-9:30 a.m. Registration and continental breakfast
  • 9:30-11 a.m. Financial Aid Workshop
  • 11 a.m. to noon Individual advising and campus tours

Financial aid officers and Baker College admissions advisors will be available to provide one-on-one assistance.

If possible, students and parents should bring their 2013 federal and state 1040 tax returns, W-2 forms and untaxed income amounts (such as ADC, SSI, child support, etc.).
