Baker College’s Culinary Institute of Michigan Announces Fall Schedule of Community Cooking Classes

Baker College of Muskegon is offering cooking classes to the general public. All classes will be held at the Culinary Institute of Michigan (CIM) at 336 W. Clay in downtown Muskegon.
“This is a perfect venue for the individual who is interested in learning basic and specialized culinary arts principles, but doesn’t want to become a full-time student,” said Robb White, dean of culinary, The Culinary Institute of Michigan at Baker College of Muskegon.
The classes will be held on Friday and Saturday, are limited to 12 students and cost $95 each, unless otherwise noted. Class schedule is as follows:
- Mid Summer Steak House – Friday, August 27 – 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- Good Morning Sunshine – Saturday, August 28 – 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- Appetizers and Hors d’oeuvres – Friday, September 3 – 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- Salmon: Big Fish, Big Flavor – Friday, September 10 – 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- Cooking 101 Skills Development – Saturday, September 11 – 9 a.m. until
1 p.m. – Note: charge for this class is $125 - Regional Italian Cuisine – Friday, September 17 – 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- Good Morning Sunshine – Saturday, September 18 – 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
“After the instructional part of the class, the real fun begins,” said White. “That’s when participants sit down and enjoy their creations. We envision an educational and entertaining event.”
