Disciplinary Appeal Process

If a student who has been disciplined for any of the infractions described in the preceding section feels that the disciplinary action has been unjustly applied, the student has the right to appeal the decision. The disciplinary appeal process is designed to give the student an opportunity to present his/her case to people with decision-making authority at several administrative levels.

Baker College has a prescribed written process for conducting such an appeal. Copies of the written procedures and required forms can be obtained from the Campus Safety Office on each campus. The Disciplinary Appeal Form must include the student’s rationale for appeal, and must be completed within 10 days of the original date of imposed disciplinary action or the right to appeal will be forfeited.

Residence hall infractions, behavioral contracts and suspensions are not subject to the Baker College disciplinary appeal process.
