Initial Certifications

Elementary Mathematics

The Elementary Mathematics – initial – Postbaccalaureate Certificate allows you to leverage your existing college credits and become an accredited teacher in about two years.

In this program, you will:

  • Gain the knowledge and skills needed to receive a Michigan Provisional Elementary Teaching Certificate, allowing you to teach all subjects in kindergarten through grade 5, all subjects in kindergarten through grade 8 self-contained classrooms, and mathematics in grades 6 through 8.
  • Complete the mathematics major and the elementary studies minor.
  • Be eligible to apply for certification upon successful program completion and passing the required state tests.

The conditional requirements for this program include a Bachelor degree.
