Internet and LAN Security

This is a computer networking program offered in conjunction with Check Point Software Technologies. Check Point Software is the world leader in securing the Internet. This Associate degree is an academic partnership program that prepares students for careers in designing, managing, and securing virtual private networks using firewall technologies. This program will provide students with practical job skills in information security, security management, and the technical components of security, expanding their employment opportunities in this critical and timely job area. Students who successfully complete the two-year program will be prepared to pass the CompTIA Network+ and CCSA (Check Point Certified Security Administrator) certifications. Students will also have acquired skills for the more advanced CCSE exam (Check Point Certified Security Expert).

This program includes studies in:

  • Introduction to Operating Systems, Hardware, Wireless, and Network fundamentals.
  • SQL Database Development and Management.
  • Network and Information Systems Security.
  • VPN/Firewall Architecture and Management.
  • Server Configuration and Maintenance.
  • Linux/Unix, Windows Vista.
