College is a time to learn and grow - both in and out of the classroom. We’re looking for students willing to challenge themselves and help us shape the future of the Baker College community. Through participation in these Student Life opportunities, you’ll learn valuable skills you can use both in the classroom and in your future career!
Student Life Leadership Counsel (SLLC)
As a member of the SLLC, you’ll have the opportunity to work with campus and community leaders to shape the future of student life at Baker College. This includes initiatives such as planning and leading campus events, showcasing activities on social media, partnering with student clubs and organizations and establishing new intramural programs. In return, we’ll provide you with a scholarship equal to the cost of housing ($2,200/semester), leadership training sessions, and an SLLC sash or cord for graduation.
Student Ambassadors represent and help promote Baker College to prospective students and surrounding communities. You’ll participate in student panels, lead campus tours, support our social media efforts and participate in enrollment events. In return for your 40 hours of work each semester, we’ll award you a $500 Bronze Scholarship each semester, free Baker College swag and a service sash or cord for graduation.
As a Resident Advisor (RA), you’ll learn important leadership skills. You’ll organize events and activities, mediate disagreements, build the community and be a resource for students in your assigned residence hall. RA’s receive scholarships equal to the cost of housing each semester with an added $900 towards books or credit. We encourage you to get to know your RA during your freshman year if you’re interested in becoming an RA yourself as part of your college journey at Baker College.
