Love Animals? Put Your Passion to Work With a Veterinary Technology Degree.
July 21, 2020
Veterinary technicians, commonly known as vet techs, are credentialed professionals who provide nursing care for animals of all kinds. Vet techs are qualified to carry out a wide range of duties, from taking X-rays to administering anesthesia. In fact, with the exceptions of diagnosing illness, prescribing medication and performing surgery, a licensed veterinary technician can do almost all the same things as a veterinarian—and it only takes a two-year degree to get started.
If you’d like to earn a living helping animals lead healthier, happier lives, an associate degree in veterinary technology from Baker College can help you launch a rewarding career right away. In this program, you’ll learn how to provide high-quality clinical care for labradoodles, livestock and everything in between. Through a mix of classroom lessons, hands-on lab work and on-the-job training, you’ll build the knowledge you need to pass the national certification exam and become a licensed veterinary technician.
Baker College is a not-for-profit institution, which means our main priority is making sure you get a great education at an affordable price. We have a wide variety of financial aid options to choose from and one of the lowest tuition rates in the state of Michigan. Veterinary technology students may also qualify for an additional $6,000 scholarship through our direct admission program.
