Adjunct Faculty – Auto/Diesel Institute (Part-Time)

Location: Baker College of Owosso
Compensation: Compensation based on education and existing rates for similar positions within Baker College Professional Services, Inc.
Start Date: Spring 2021

Reports To: Program Director
Work Schedule: Varies - maximum of 9 credits per semester and/or up to 28 hours per week.

Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire individuals to be assigned to the positions of ADJUNCT FACULTY – AUTO/DIESEL INSTITUTE (PART-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker College of Owosso.

General Statement of Duties:

Adjunct automotive instructors facilitate the learning objectives laid out by ASE Education Foundation. to acquire acertificate or Associate degree in automotive technologies.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • ASE certification in either Automotive Service Technology or Diesel Service Technology required;
  • Associate degree preferred in related area
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 5 years relatable work experience in automotive repair technologies required OR 2 years relatable experience and Associate Degree in a related area
  • Must be able to demonstrate technologies related to automotive repair and identify proper repair procedures
  • Knowledge of various OEM diagnostic software programs preferred
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, groups of managers, customers, and/or the general public
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • This job requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual activity
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Work performed both inside and outside of buildings
  • Moderate to loud noise environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily lesson plans
  • Develop shop projects and activities related to SLO’s and learning objectives
  • Track attendance and maintain log
  • Develop lectures pertaining to learning objectives
  • Develop and post discussion board
  • Update and maintain Canvas (online Learning Management System)
