Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of Auto/Diesel Speciality Coordinator (FULL-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker College of Owosso.
General Statement of Duties:
The Auto/Diesel Specialty Coordinator is to provide specific industry expertise and apply their knowledge to course content. The Coordinator will focus on promoting achievement of student learning outcomes for the assigned course load. This role will also be responsible for the oversight of the Auto/Diesel Running Start program, in addition to assisting with administrative duties that support the program director.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in a related area and master Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications in either Automobile Service or Diesel Service required
Must have demonstrated competency in program-specific knowledge and performance skills
Canvas, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Online supporting textbook resources such as Evolve/Elsevier resources.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and lead instruction for assigned specialty course(s) and other supplemental courses as needed.
Maintain oversight of the Running Start program for the specific program area.
Assigns and schedules students for course work in these areas
Provides laboratory instruction in core specialty areas and other areas as needed
Assists the Dean and Program Director with curriculum planning, textbook recommendations, ongoing assessment and evaluation, and revisions for the assigned core specialty courses.'
Assists with hiring adjunct faculty for core specialty areas
Provides orientation and mentoring of adjunct faculty in core specialty courses
Regularly meets with and evaluates bi-annually adjunct clinical instructors in core specialty courses
Assists with student tutoring when indicated
Assists in administration and proctoring of standardized admission testing for automotive and diesel applicants and for core specialty courses
Participates in department, division, and program meetings
Participates in professional development to maintain current knowledge in automotive and diesel educational methodologies
Maintains standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional faculty position
Perform administrative duties that support the program director, as needed
