Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of Programmatic Sous Chef for the benefit of and to be located at Baker College of Muskegon and Baker College of Port Huron
General Statement of Duties:
The Programmatic Sous Chefs (PSC) is responsible to assist all labs in the program that they are studying in at the discretion of the program director. PSC will wear a RED neckerchief supplied to them by the CIM program Director. The neckerchief will be worn when they are performing their role as a PSC, as the purpose of the alternate color neckerchief is to allow other stakeholders to easily recognize that the student is working on specific tasks in a manner different than those students who are enrolled in the course.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Must be a current student in the Culinary Institute Program and be in at least the third semester of study.
Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to lift and maneuver independently up to 50 lbs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists instructors with specific labs, as assigned by Program Director
Requisitions additional items from receiving for labs, scale and measure food products, evaluate sanitation and safety practices
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
