Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of LAB INSTRUCTOR – SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY (PART-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker College of Jackson.
General Statement of Duties:
To facilitate student achievement in the laboratory-learning environment by providing program-specific expertise and instruction under the direct supervision of the Program Director.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in related field required; Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in related field preferred
Must possess credentials in the field of Surgical Technology through a National Certification Program accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
Three years’ of recent scrub or surgical technology education teaching experience or combination of both within the last five years
Teaching experience at college level preferred
Must be knowledgeable in Surgical Technology discipline
Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to lift and maneuver independently up to 25 lbs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Student Success: provide instruction and assistance to students during their laboratory experience in accordance with curriculum requirements, assure that students meet all skill/performance outcomes in accordance with curriculum requirements, and assist Program Director with student files, surveys, schedules, and required hours.
Laboratory Management: oversee the organization of the laboratory including cleanliness of lab facility and ordering and maintaining par levels of supplies, ensure safe procedures in laboratory, and attend safety-training sessions as assigned.
Continuous Improvement: participate in relevant campus and system meetings in addition to all staff and faculty professional development events.
