Several hundred area high school students will assemble at the Owosso campus to compete in the Business Professionals of America regional competition, hoping to earn a spot in the state competition. Baker staff, K-12 teachers and staff from area school districts, and other community members will serve as judges for the event.
Business Professionals of America is a national career and technical student organization consisting of 25 state associations and more than 50,000 members from over 2,700 chapters. The organization serves students who are currently, or were previously enrolled, in a business education program at a secondary or postsecondary institution. Chapters are located in high schools, career/technical centers, postsecondary technical institutions, junior and community colleges, and colleges and universities. Michigan is divided into 9 regions and has approximately 4,600 members amongst approximately 170 local chapters.
