Price: $65.00 per person (includes a buffet lunch immediately following the class, lunch ends at 1:00 PM). Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (the fee only applies to the student, not the parent or guardian). Limited availability.
Course Description: Learn to decorate cakes and cupcakes from the professionals. Students will learn cake decorating techniques from the Culinary Institute of Michigan’s Award-winning Pastry Chef faculty. Some of the techniques and skills covered will be royal icing, basic piping, sugar flowers, hand painting techniques and an introduction to fondant.
Outcomes — participants in this course will develop an understanding of:
Basic decorating skills
Basic flower making skills
Basic hand painting skills
Supplies: All supplies will be provided for participants.
Dress code — in order to provide a safe sanitary environment for all participants, the following dress code must be adhered to for all participants and their chaperone:
Nonslip, close-toed, close backed shoes.
Legs must be fully covered.
Hair must be tied back
