Solve the equation for a better future.

If you’re good with numbers, using your talents to teach math to others can lead to a highly rewarding career.

As a student in our elementary teacher preparation program with an emphasis on mathematics, you’ll gain a well-rounded understanding of the skills you’ll need to succeed as a math teacher by completing a mathematics major and an elementary studies minor.

After completing the program, you’ll be ready to take the test and earn your Michigan Provisional Elementary Teaching Certificate. You’ll also be able to add an EX endorsement to your teaching certificate, which will allow you to teach many different types of math classes in grades 6-8, such as general mathematics, pre-algebra, and geometry.

This program doesn’t limit you to just teaching math, either. You’ll also be able to teach all subjects in grades K-5 and all subjects in self-contained classrooms for grades K-8.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
