Make language arts your life by majoring in language arts education.

If you have a passion for language arts, share that passion with others by becoming a language arts teacher.

Working as an educator involves a wide range of skills and we’re here to help give you the educational foundation you need to get started. Our elementary teacher preparation program with an emphasis on language arts allows you to earn a bachelor’s degree by completing a language arts major and an elementary studies minor.

After completing this program, you’ll be ready to take the test you need to earn a Michigan Provisional Elementary Teaching Certificate. You’ll also be able to apply for a BX endorsement for your teaching certificate, which allows you to teach language arts and other related subjects like speech, literature, and writing to students in grades 6-8.

As a graduate of this program, you won’t be limited to only teaching language arts. You’ll also be able to teach all subjects in K-5 classrooms and all subjects in self-contained classrooms in grades K-8.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
