Do more in your education career than you thought possible.

Having an elementary teaching certificate is a great way to start a career, but what if you decide you want to be able to do more? We can help.

If you enjoy teaching social studies, our secondary social studies level change program can help create more opportunities in your career. This program helps you learn the skills and information you’ll need to be able to qualify for an endorsement to teach social studies in grades 6-12.

As a student, you’ll have the chance to take classes led by experienced educators who fully understand what techniques and methods work well in the classroom. With a combination of classroom learning and fieldwork, you’ll be able to turn the things you learn in the classroom into real-world experience.

Over the course of the program, you’ll complete our secondary social studies major and part of the professional education core that focuses on working with secondary students. After completing this program, you’ll be fully prepared to take the test required to obtain the appropriate endorsement for your teaching certificate.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
