The mission of Baker College’s Medical Reimbursement Specialist Program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become successful medical billers and coders in an ever-changing healthcare environment. 

Program Outcomes

The graduate will demonstrate the ability to translate written descriptions for procedures/services performed to the highest level of specificity, and link the proper procedure code and diagnosis code when give appropriate CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM manuals.

The graduate will model professional behavior and apply ethical thinking principles, and legal concepts to the practice of medical reimbursement specialist in a culturally diverse society.

The graduate will utilize problem-solving techniques and critical thinking to solve issues that occur within the healthcare environment.

The graduate will be able to work effectively as a team member to effectively and efficiently process clean claims.

The graduate will demonstrate commitment to professional development by pursuing continuing education and /or membership in a professional organization related to medical reimbursement.
